PX5 is a modified P20, high performance, high precision, mold steel.
Applications include:
- plastic molds
- rubber molds
- press platens
- dies
Features:
- Machines 30- to 40 percent faster than P20
- Pre-hardened to 29-33 HRC
- Uniform microstructure & hardness with extremely improved machined surface
finish
- Never needs stress relieving
- Improved weldability and greatly reduced susceptibility to weld cracking
- Reduced surface-hardened layer in EDM making finishing operations easier
